Could any of you let me know what Apples track record on delivery is like as I didnt get my ipod from them as such, it was from PC world? Thanks ever so much. :)

Regards, Joe

ps I';m especially excited about front row! And the fact I shall never be plagued with viruses or malware or any of that *****.

Dude,

I am happy for you. I had hopes of ordering my iMac 20" this week, but alas, I have been overcome by events. I was going to take a loan from my "emergency fund" to buy the iMac. That would be an actual loan, with a very low interest rate that is paid back to my investment account. I had recently decided that I wasn't going to do that, because I really do look at that money as an emergency fund. I figured I would just hold out for awhile longer with my really outdated Dell, but then it went belly up last week. I broke down and bought a Gateway PC. I consider it my "hold me over" machine. I REALLY wanted to make the switch to Mac, and still think that I will make that switch sometime this year. Maybe when Leopard comes out. This Gateway is pretty fast and I will get a free copy of Vista when it comes out, but I REALLY wish it was my iMac. Hopefully, later this year, I will switch and pass this PC on to one of my kids. Sorry to jump in on your thread, but I was just feeling a bit blue about the whole thing. Oh yeah, I updated my Internet Explorer to ver 7 and guess what(?), it's buggy as all heck. Now I have to drop it back down to ver 6. Guess that's what I get for going the cheap route.

Yup, wireless KB and MM are both Bluetooth, which the iMac has built in as standard. :)

Enjoy your new machine.

Thanks again everybody! :)

I just now hope that I will be able to connect my existing Dell Dimension 8400 ExPee Peecee machine to the Imac without too much hardship. As you can see above I have ordered a Belkin USB pen drive blutooth drive and the airport express base station; what I want to do is connect with my existing ISP and have both computers running the Internet (if you catch my gist). I have been advised to wait until the day the imac is delivered, put it on my desk, not touch ANYTHING and then call Applecare; then they can walk me though the setup.

Being apple, it should be a joy to set up? :)

Airport express is really easy to set up, it guides you through everything:D apple rocks...

all you need to do is plug an ethernat cable from your curent internet boxy thing to the AX and then set it up :D

WOW, I had a sudden change of fortune today, and now I don't feel so out of place on this forum. I am the property officer for my office, and one of our guys is leaving so he returned the G4 MPB (?) to me. Well, I know it is a G4, just not exactly sure which model it is. It's big (wide format screen) and very thin. I know it has OS X, so now I can start learning the OS and get myself ready for my own Mac. YIPPEEE.

PowerBook G4 and MacBook Pro is Intel.
Both are really nice computers.

You're going to need an ethernet modem/router. USB is not for internet, the telcos give out USB modems so that they can control your use. Get a real ethernet device and take back the control.

Plus, OSX doesn't really support USB for internet. It's the only thing it has a lot of trouble with.

Telcos giving out stupid USB modems is one of my absolute hates - they are a ridiculous waste of time.

You don't really need a router if your PC is also wireless-enabled, just get an ethernet modem and plug the ethernet into the Airport Express - then you'll have wireless internet for both machines.

If it has a widescreen and a G4 processor it's a PowerBook.
