About to purchase a MBP C2D, but I have a couple questions first

I'm just waiting for my ADC Student Membership to be approved, faxed them my ID and schedule today.

My questions are:
1) Should I wait for this 8-core one coming out?
2) I'm looking at getting the MBP and keeping it for a couple years, so should I just go ahead and get it now?
3) I've heard that nothing else spectacular will be coming out soon, is that true?

I understand the whole thing that electronics will always get better 🙂

Go ahead and buy...the machines were just updated. The 8-core chips aren't coming to laptops anytime soon. There will always be incremental improvements around the bend, so now is a great time to buy.

Looks like everything was either "just updated" or "mid-product cycle". Based on history, it doesn't look like any new updates will be coming soon.
