I bought a CD RW so I don't have to waste so many CDs. It's the first time I am using it, how does it work, as I don't think Tiger is recognizing it as a CD RW. After I have written on it once, it won't let me modify anything... :(

You have to erase the CD-RW in Disk Utility.

Eidorian is right, a CD RW isn't a hard drive. It is a CD in that you can read data that has been burned into it. It is re-writable in that you can erase the disk and start over. But it is not a hard drive.
