I was looking round my study and it suddenly occurred to me that I have a fair amount of hardware hooked up to my Mac. Here's an inventory....

iMac G5 Rev A (no built in iSight) 1.8GHz, 2GB
Permanently Connected
- Laserjet 6L (via DLink ethernet print server)
- Laserjet 2600N color laser
- Canon PIXMA IP6000D inkjet
- DYMO Labelwriter
- Canon LiDE 35 scanner
- External iSight
- 2x WD MyBook 500GB external hard disks
- 1x WD MyBook 250GB external hard disk
- Wacom Intuos graphics tablet

Intermittently connected
- iPod 5G 60GB
- Nikon DSLR camera
- 60GB 2.5" external hard disk
- EyeTV 200
- Various memory cards via a card reader

Everything runs without a hitch as expected. I was curious what others might have connected to their Macs

Mine is kinda buried in my HT rack so I have a couple wires sticking out for ease of use.

My Mini has:
-Display
-Keyboard
-RF Mouse receiver
-Card reader
-MiniStack 400GB
-Portable HDD 60GB
-iPod cable (sometimes even an iPod)

A USB extender cord jsut hanging out that is used variously for:
-Wired mouse
-Flash drives
-Anything else temporary

If I add much more, I'll need another hub, the Stack is maxed, I think. Printer is via network, so no physical connection.

Now, if you count the audio cables, in and out, it is connected to my HT which has many more devices. But I'll just leave it at:
-7.1 audio system
-Digital or analog audio input as needed

Should have:
-DVI switcher to use both the little display and my TV
-Proprietary IR box for programming my remotes, I just need to plug it in, it's sitting here--heck, WinXP is even loaded and ready

Let's follow it down the chain shall we...

Mac Pro:
• Firewire cable for my ACD's hub:
- Transintl firewire HDD
• USB cable for my ACD's hub:
- USB connector for Canon PowerShot S400
- Apple Keyboard:
- Logitech MX1000
- "Super Dual Box Pro" (Playstation to USB adapter)
• Belkin USB powered hub:
- SanDisk 12-in-1 card reader
• Canon i860 printer
• Altec Lansing FX6021 2.1 speakers (line out port)

The USB hub is left over from when I had my PowerBook. It's not the only hub I have sitting around, either, heh.

If I had more room on my desk, I'd also have:
• Canon LIDE35 scanner
• Wacom Graphire3 4x5
(I only plug them in when I need to use them)

This leaves me with:
• 5 free USB ports
• 4 free Firewire ports (including two 4-pin type on the Mac Pro)
