I am Moving from a G5 to a Mac Pro 2.66GHz. I have 2 drives in the G5 that I need to transfer all of the data from. What would be the quickest way. Should I use a program like CopyCatX™ to help with the transfer?
Use an ethernet cable?
Use another options?

You can set up your PMG5 to boot up in target disk mode via firewire connection to your Mac Pro. Hold down the T key when you start up the PMG5 and make sure you have either a FW400 or FW800 cable connecting the two Macs.
Alternatively, you can take out the two Hard drives in your Powermac G5 and put them into your Mac Pro. They are compatible and you can just transfer the data and even use them for more storage, well maybe just one since you might sell the PM G5.
Do not use the Transfer assistant that comes up when you first run your Mac Pro. This has caused many to have a slower system because PPC prefs, caches, etc, are copying over.
