Hello all,

For sale is my 15" Powerbook G4. The notebook is in excellent condition, apart from some unavoidable (and VERY minor) aesthetic things like a small scratch on the bottom near the battery. This computer has been my baby for about 2 years, but it's time to move one. I have never had a single problem with the machine - it's definitely top notch. Quick and bug free.

System Profile:
- - - - - - - - - -
Power PC G4 1.5 GHz
1 GB of RAM
80GB HD (stock)
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
CD-RW / DVD-ROM Combo drive
Firewire 400 & 800
2 x USB 2.0
DVI & S-Video
PCI Slot
Airport Extreme
Bluetooth
10/100 Ethernet
v.92 Modem
OS X 10.4 Tiger

This machine will be stripped clean and Tiger will be re-installed (YES...LEGALLY) from the LEGAL install discs. Apparently there was some ambiguity in the previous post so to be clear, anything installed on this machine is LEGAL. I was merely offering to leave any currently installed software on the machine - I do not believe this is illegal since it's used equipment, but in deference to the rules of this forum, such references have been removed.

I'm asking for a price at or near $1000 - $1100, or the best reasonable offer. If you're interested, feel free to PM or email me to discuss the particulars.

Thanks!

As long as the Tiger install discs are included with the system, this offer is fine.

Yes - all pertinent materials (discs, etc) are included.

Don't mean to bump this thread, but just as a side note - I will listen to reasonable monetary offers near $1000 (as stated earlier) but I will also listen to any trade offers. So feel free.

Thanks!

You did not need to bump your thread. You could have simpy edited your first post saying that you would except trades. There was no need for subsequent post ;) :)

What kind of trades would you be interested in, a laptop ? dekstop ?

Also is there any chance of posting a few pics so that we can see the condition of the powerbook ourselves.

I'd listen to either. A new notebook (MB or MBP) is preferable, but I'll listen to all offers.

Sure thing, here's a few - this should put a potential buyer's mind at ease. Long story short, she's in truly excellent condition. Clean, well-cared for, and apart from some very minor evidence of use here and there (slight marks around the trackpad, that kind of thing, which is to be expected) it's really just about perfect. There is a small scratch on the bottom (which I didn't even think to photograph since it's on the bottom) but otherwise nothing even worth noting:

Just as a side not here... the screen has no problems whatsoever. Anything in this photo that looks like discoloration, banding, or any other issues are merely the result of a poorly lit photograph and not the screen. The display is excellent.

Would you consider an immaculate MacMini Intel, lightly used. Purchased August 12 2006 and under warranty until 8/12/2007. Sales slip enclosed with pictures. Included is a Newer Technology Enclosure containing a 160 GIG drive. Entire package cost in August was over $1200.00 dollars. Reason for selling is that shortly after purchase of these items I acquired a PowerMac desktop that satisfied my requirements completely. Thanks for the reply, but I've actually made some upgrades to this machine since posting, and - unless someone bowls me over with a great offer - have decided to keep it until post-Leopard.

For any who might be interested, as of this weekend, this machine now has the following specs (bold items are new):

System Profile:
- - - - - - - - - -
Power PC G4 1.5 GHz
2 GB of RAM
120GB HD (5200rpm)
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
CD-RW / DVD-ROM Combo drive
Firewire 400 & 800
2 x USB 2.0
DVI & S-Video
PCI Slot
Airport Extreme
Bluetooth
10/100 Ethernet
v.92 Modem
OS X 10.4 Tiger
- - - - - - - - - -

The one catch to this upgrade is that due to matters outside of my control (after struggling myself, I brought this machine to a certified Apple shop and they confirmed my suspiscion), one of the latches on the front of the case was either bent or mishaped over time, and then could not be opened traditionally. As a result, there are some minor scraps and nicks in the front of the case, just above the disc drive, where this latch had to be pried open. It has no effect on the machine - purely aesthetic. But it's visible, so it deserved a note.

So as I said, I'm leaning towards keeping the maching now, but certainly feel free to submit other offers or trades and I'll be happy to listen. For what it's worth, with a new drive and extra gig of RAM it's REALLY zipping along now.
