Renaming PDF files when downloading

I am new to the Mac OS so please excuse my ignorance.

When I right-click on a PDF to download it and get the option to "download linked file' I can not seem to be able to change the name prior to saving. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Instead of downloading with the right-click/Control Click, let the file open into Acrobat Reader than do a Save As...

It opens in its own webpage, not in Acrobat (I use Pro not reader) and I can't save it from there as anything but an html file. Any other thoughts..

acrobat reader?!?! what??

On my mac, i view pdf files with Preview (one of my favorite apps.)

you can right-click the pdf, Open in Preview, and then Save As.

when i open a pdf in Safari, it opens in a new web page then i can save as...
