I thought it would be useful to start a thread for those of us who dont have any wii's, and are desperately looking for them all over town. I'm getting this idea from another forum that helped me find a XBOX 360 last year during its launch. I guess post info/reliable rumors of shipments...

Guess I'll go first...

Best Buy in Miami :Keep checking every sunday

Toys "R" Us in Miami: Check back next year

EDIT: I got one! I got one! I called gamestop and they said they got their "retail" shipments in today that they are able to sell to the public, that ARE NOT PRESALE! Good luck ya'll!

None in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, none of the stores even knew when the next shipments would come in. Some GameStops even claimed to have unfulfilled pre-orders remaining. Good luck to us Pittsburghers.

Luckily, I did have a pre-order and did get mine! I have been calling around with my friend who wants one, but no luck yet....

I called Toys R Us in Times Square, and they are supposedly processing my order and shipping me one. I am going to call back tomorrow to confirm. I live in Philadelphia, btw, and shipping was 20 bucks.

Its worth a phone call if they don't have any in your area (just google Toys R Us and Times Square). I checked most of the stores here in Philly, and I wasn't able to find any.

Any reports on the Ashburn, Virginia area?

Hey AJ Muni... great news, my cousin lives in Miami so maybe she can grab one for me, are the Costco ones bundle (I would imagine so) if so what do they come with? Do you think they'll be easy to get as can she just walk in there tomorrow morning and grab one?

Thanks for the reports.

Good luck, and Patience pays my freind, patience pays (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=3071563#post3071563)(Look at post # 12 ;) )

Hey Thanks....once someone figures it out...let us know!

I actually had a Wii for sale not a PS3...and yup I sold it tonight for 390$ on ebay. Started the bid at 280$. Thanks for caring.

I do have a PS3 for sale now though...just picked it up today. My preorder finally came in from gamestop:D

I've been tryin' everyday for the past 3 days to find a damn Wii. No one knows anything apparently, but WalMart knows that they are gettin 9. That's right 9 Wii's but they don't know when. So why the hell was the point of tellin me your gettin' 9? If you know you're gettin' exactly nine, how the hell don't you know when it is comin. Did headquearters call and say, "Hey, we are sendin you 9 Wii's, within an imaginary timeframe". Of course your goin to more Wii's eventually, everyplace is god damnit! /end rant

It's also that time of year where people are retarded drivers and can't follow a damned arrow in the parking lot. Or maybe it's that I haven't been around the malls as I used to.

I'm a try again tomorrow. Reggie lied to us...

In CT: I looked around yesterday, everyone told me Friday or "maybe Saturday/Sunday". The guys at Target seemed confident they'd have plenty by Christmas, said they had 60 at launch and Walmart only got 20.

That's all I got. Oh, and FYI for anyone trying to get one on Friday, call ahead! My local mall is opening at 5AM! You'd hate to show up at 8 and find out the store has been open for 3 hours!

I see thanks, well hopefully she'll be able to find one, that Costco is actually very near to where she lives lol.

Heh thank god I'm looking for a Wii and not a PS3 cause otherwise I'd need a LOT of patience.

Hey SamIchi just keep trying man. I've been reading your post(s) the last couple of days and I kno your dieng to get one. Just dont give up calling, and call everywhere. Hell if you keep calling everyday, try to make a friend at a gamestop or something to see if they'll give you a call when they come in. The only postive that I can think of trying to get one, is that the anticipation gets sooo much bigger, and once you finally get you'll appreciate it more...(atleast thats my pathetic reasoning :p ). Just dont give up!

That's pretty much what happens. In some places, managers have access to see what and how much inventory/stock will be coming in, but you're never sure when.*

*Sometimes there's a narrower time frame if you're buddy-buddy w/ your delivery person and/or you know exactly which pallet the stock is being shipped with and when that exact pallet will be arriving at the store.

Thanks for the support, but today was the same. I just wanted one before TG so we have somethin' to do, but my friend that's comin over has one and is bringin it along. I'm goin to buy some Wii-motes today so we can have 4.

I did work in retail, but I never dealt with numbers and such. It was a clothing store. Thanks for the info though.

Don't bother looking until Friday. I know some people that work at Best Buy and they said that even though they have some in stock right now, they aren't going to put any out until Black Friday. Same with Gamestops/EBGames.

It's really messed up for them to do it, but apparently that's what they are doing.

The two Best Buys near me (Calgary, ALberta, CA) said they're getting huge shipments tomorrow. One said 66...while the other said "a lot."

Does anyone know if it would be worth going an hour or so early? Will there still be gigantic lines do you think?
It's not our Thanks Giving here...so there's no massive sales or anything...

Hmm, that's interesting. I haven't been able to get any shipment dates out of anyone. I do think I might do that 5 AM thing at Best Buy tomorrow just to see... there are a couple of other things one sale I interested in, e.g. PSP memory sticks: 1GB for $20, 2GB for $40, in case anyone else is interested.

I called all the Best Buys close to me a second time to see what different people would say; now no one knows how many they are getting in. One person told me that I should aim for coming around 6:30-7:00ish, and the other told me to show up at the very latest at 9:00. I think I will show up at 8:30 and see how big the line is; if it's huge I'm heading home and will find something better to do with my time! It's going to be -20 degrees C tomorrow too.

My friend works at Best Buy in Tinley Park, IL. He said they were getting a shipment last night around 9. so at 9 we went there and, although they weren't on the shelves yet, 51 Wii's had just arrived! He went to the back to get 2 for my friend and I but they wouldn't let him. They said they're not selling any of them until Sunday! Because they have a bug promotion/sale/ad in the sunday newspaper about it.

Why on earth would you keep 51 Wii's in the back on Black Friday? This is ridiculous, I can't wait until sunday! I want it nooowwww!
I've written down the phone numbers of every wal mart, target, and best buy within a 10 mile radius (about 12 stores) so tomorrow morning at like 6 am i'll be calling to see if there's any in stock anywhere.

They just get people to come in for anything. There's already huge lines for the crap BB is selling tomorrow (and the flyer here had nothing about the Wii in it). So just wait, anyone looking for a Wii buys something else, Sunday's flyer comes out, everyone has to go shopping again. Win-win!

2) Best Buy in Miami said they should have over 100 in the shelves for upcoming black friday (Buddy told me who works at BB)

This is totally wrong. All Best Buy's are to sell their Wii's on Sunday. Any day earlier and it's against the standard operating procedure.

Man, if you're not right I will have made a 35 minute drive out to The Boondocks all for naught.

And then, you know, I won't add you to my Friends List when I finally get one.

I think the idea of places not having the Wii until next year is stupid. Nintendo knows that the Wii will be a hot Christmas item, they aren't going to miss that opportunity.

My local BB said they would have them, tickets are being given out at 9AM. I'll probably swing over at 6 to see if there is a line yet (3 hours is the max I am willing to stand around).

So I assume that those who knew about the BB shipment went early and got their Wii? Our store had 18 while another on the east-side of Louisville (ass-hat rich people) got about 50.

Yes! Best Buy was opening at 10:00am so I arrived at 8:50am thinking there might be a line. Oh boy was there a line. At least... 60 or so people? I'm bad at judging... were already there. I didn't think I could get one. But they had a huuuuuuge table full of Wii's. Almost enough for everyone in line I think (including the people who showed up after me, which about doubled the size of the line). Enough so that there was still a good number of them left when I got inside, at least. I heard the first person in line say they were there since around 5:30am. Good thing I didn't try to show up at 10:00am...

They started letting people inside, 5 at a time, a little after 9:00am. No tickets, just single file. Only people who were buying Wii consoles, and only the people who were actually paying for them (no buddies could accompany you). I went in, over to the table, picked one up, paid, and drove home. Quick and easy. Much much more pleasant than the midnight launch at an EBGames I attended with a friend who had one reserved. It did start raining just as I went inside and it was pouring by the time I got to the car. Too bad for the people still in line.

We had about 40 or so at the Best Buy I went to. I arrived there with a friend around 5:30AM, but I'd say that everyone that got there before 7:30 or so probably walked away with one. They handed out tickets at 9:00AM and let people in at 10:00 to redeem them.

At 6:30 I went to my local BB which is about a mile from me. I was #25 in line when I got there, and at around 7:00 the manager came out and told us they only had 18 (it's a smaller BB). So then I drove to a larger BB that's about 20 minutes away. I got there at 7:20 and was #19 in line. At about 8 they told us they had 63 of them to sell, so obviously I got one. At about 8:30 when they gave out the tickets, they had at least 10 or 15 left over after giving them out to people in line. I heard they ran out at about 8:45. They let everybody who had a ticket in at 9:45 and had us form a big line and finally sold them to us from the customer service desk.

Overall I was very pleased with how BB handled it. I was particularly surprised that the manager of the first store came out so early to tell us how many they had.

Awesome guys! Im glad more people are finally starting to get them. Isnt the system great?!! I dont kno but I seem to enjoy my wii more than my 360 right now. Before, the 360 i would only play for a little, But i dont kno what it is about the wii but its soo much fun. If I were to make a comparison, it reminds me of when I sold my psp and got a ds lite. psp got boring real fast (games suck), but as soon as I got the ds it was fun, and I mean fun....Ok back on topic Keep posting where your getting your wii's from!! It seems like Best Buy is the most consistant so far..:D

I got mine this morning. Got to Best Buy at 5:30 AM and was 2nd in line. Our store had 42 and there were at least that many people in line by 8:30 . The manager came out at 9:00 and handed out tickets and then opened the doors exactly at 10:00. Sadly, my girlfriend made me put mine away until Christmas because I am an Engineering student and I would probably fail all of my exams...I bought Zelda and will probably get a Gamefly account for December so that I can try out all of the other games. Madden, Rayman, Trauma Center, Excite Truck, and Far Cry all look interesting to me. Too bad about the controls on Red Steel and the graphics and lack of multiplayer on COD3... I really wouldn't mind that Wii Play bundle being out here but since it isn't out in the US until January I guess I'll just get 1 more Wiimote and Nunchuck and maybe a component cable if I can find one.

To those that don't have one yet: Watch various Nintendo and store (Amazon) forums for tips on where will be getting them next. If it is in an ad they have to have them. Then, get there at least 4 hours early and you will most likely get one...

I almost bought a Wavebird, Wind Waker and RE4 but decided that there might be a Wiimake of these that I can use a classic controller with. I don't really want to have the huge dongle sticking out of my Wii just so that I can play GC games. (I know I can use a regular GC controller but I like wireless ones)..Do you guys think there will be some Wiimakes? or a firmware update to make the classic controller work for GC games. It seems crazy that they couldn't have found a way to do this. Also, do you guys think there will be a way to network our Macs (unofficially anyway) with the Wii so that we can stream music or photos similar to the 360s functionality?

I haven't heard anything definate but have read rumors about Target, Walmart, and TRU having Wiis this week. If you have the time go to whatever is closest to you when they open and you can probably get one sometime this week. I've heard that BB is getting them weekly so I bet they will have them again next Sunday but it could be they will get less and less as we get closer to Christmas and people start getting desperate.

Someone I know said he saw a PS3 at 5:30 Sunday morning at Walmart but couldn't buy it because he didn't have the money. I would have been tempted to charge it so that I could make a profit but then again, console scalping is so immoral too me...Viva La Wii!

It was interesting weekend for sure...

I got to BB at 5am on Friday and saw a ridiculous line wrapped around the back of the store, so I headed to Target and waited in line 'til 6 to see if they had any - turns on out they didn't.

I was also one of those folks who tried showing up at BB at 10 on Sunday to see what the line was like - waited a bit and saw we missed out. Tried a local EB Games after that, but they didn't have any (manager could have told us that when they saw us milling around outside for 20 minutes  ).

I think I'll just shoot for BB next Sunday and get there earlier, unless I hear a good lead on someone getting some mid-week. *shrug*

EBStop has a Wii bundle up. (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=B020070E) Not TOO much of a rip-off, aside from including one of those vaunted $59.99 SD cards. :P

EDIT: I should add that it's $700. But, you get 6 games, the worst of which is Red Steel, and an extra remote. SD card is worth maybe $30-35. So that's a $50-75 premium for getting the system, which is probably better than eBay.

They're also forcing you to buy the one-year product replacement plan. I think most people would consider that a waste of money as well...
