View Full Version : Does your Wii CD Drive glow blue?

I was watching some videos (prerelease console though) and the system looked like the CD tray should be glowing blue around the slot? Does anyone else's system do that?

Under Settings you can set it to glow blue, when its hooked up to WiiConnect24....I did it, it worked for a little not the whole time

It only flashes once when I initially turn it on. I wish it would pulse during gameplay like how Mac portables pulse in sleep mode. That would be damn cool. I call for a firmware update!

yeah it only does it when you get a message from Wiiconnect24.

It sucks, i want it on all the time....even if neon blue light is a total tech fad right now

Maybe there's goin to be a hack or firmware update where we could choose if we want it on or not. That would be awesome.

Actually, that is a nice visual cue feature! I like that it comes on when you get new messages.

It would also be a waste of energy if it was always on. Probably really miniscule but a waste none-the-less. Is it like E-mail when you get messages? If so just "check as unread" then the light will always be on.

i think i remember hearing that it turns on when a disc is being loaded, among other things mentioned.

I thought I originally read that it was going to be for inserting discs in low-light settings and once the disc was inserted, it would go away.

Mine always glowed until today when I just confirmed my settings for WiiConnect 24 for my friend who wanted it to glow and it stopped. :(

Made my parents happy but I liked it! :)

When I get mine, it's gonna be a green LED :D
