Yesssssss! A new compilation of U2 singles has just been posted on the iTS! I just bought it and what I've heard is stunning! All of the classics like One, Pride, and Sunday Bloody Sunday have been remastered, and they sound GREAT! It also includes the Vertigo Tour Milan concert, The Saints are Coming studio, a new song called Widow in the Skies, and a song called Smile from the HTDAAB sessions. Definitely a must buy, even if you have the original versions of all these songs. This is awesome!!!!!!

He was suggesting just downloading the new tracks individually from iTunes and skipping the songs that people already have (albeit not the remastered versions) on other releases.

Ah. Three of the best songs on the album are album-only tracks. They would be Smile, Widon in the Sky, and The Saints Are Coming (studio). Also, none of those are available anywhere else.

as a new listener to U2, would you recommend buying this album on itunes to get sort of a snapshot of the band's music?

with 28 tracks on the record it seems like a pretty good bang for the buck. it works out to only 43 cents per song.

but what do you think? are you a U2 fan?

I've had it since it came out in 2006.

It's okay, and is pretty obviously 'someone's favourite U2 songs', but I've heard worst best-of compilations before.
