transfering music and pics between two macs

I just bought a new MBP and I need to transfer my photos and itunes library from my old ibook. Can this be done with a ethernet cable? If so how? I have tried to use the migration wizard but it says to use a firewire cable which I dont have. Would it be possible to use my router to transfer?

it should work with your router. but a firewire cable is cheap and stress-free way to transfer files between macs.
 
Yup, a router will work. Just turn on sharing and go to network to find the other computer.
