Posting pics

A newb question - i did a search and checked the rules/faq but can't find any guidelines for posting [img] pics. I know some people view direct linking to images on other sites as stealing bandwidth so what's the score on MR? Is it cool or should i use photobucket or flickr or somesuchlike?

There aren't really any strict rules about it here, but I think it's general internet etiquette to not link to images on other people's sites. Lots of people here use flickr and photobucket so that's fine or alternatively you can upload them to MR via the attach tool (though file sizes are limited with this option).
