adobe illustrator cs2 font problem!?

i have a problem with my adobe illustrator cs 2, running under bootcamp/xp pro.

file saves with no problem, so long as i have no text in the file!

if i have any text in the file, i get an error message for saving. it just says,

"an unknown error has occured"

and then it says that illustrator ccannot do a preview any longer, for lack of memory. --screen goes black.

WHATS THE MATTER WITH ILLUSTRATOR AND FONTS?


i reinstalled, same problem.

photoshop exhibits no such problems.

any suggestions?

not sure, but it is a regular illustrator windows install, so i guess windows fonts.

and yes, it happens with every type face.

and it works fine with photoshop, thinking they use the same fonts. so not the fonts, probably a problem with illustrator?
