wow! i must say that iTunes 4 definitely rocks! itunes 3? what was that? This music streaming feature is so awesome. When i first launched iTunes4 today and turned on music sharing, i had 3 people already connecting!! AND, the coolest part is that your friend half way around the world can even connect and stream ur music?!?! kick ass or what? If you wanna see and listen to my collection, catch me when i'm online. (AIM: chibianh). I hardly ever post but i'm too excited with this feature!

btw, open port 3689 on your router for iTunes. :P

Thanks for alerting me to open the port. I was wondering what the problem was...thanks!!!

For others, that is under the firewall--->sharing---->system preferences

I am confused about the router thing. I hate my stupid router. It wont let anyone connect to my computer for anything. I do what everyone tells me, and I tried my own stuff, but it is supid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What would someone have to do to connect to my itunes stuff? In simple talk that I can understand.

ok
i had the same problem up until last week when everything just clicked

this is what i did:

1. go to internet explorer // camino
2. type in your base station id - should be something like 192.168.2.1 // 192.168.1.1 something like that
3. this will now take you to your base station preferences tool
4. go to port forwarding
5. find the link to persistant port forwarding
6. type in the ip address for your mac computer
7. for iTunes use the port - 3689
8. if you want to access files use the port 21
9. save your preferences
10. now - in order to connect to your computer form the outside you have to know your base stations "Real world" ip adress. this can usually be found when you first log into your base station management tools
11. when you find out that - hit cmd k and type in the id followed by the port

ie. 24.xx.xx.xx:3689

get it?

i hope this helps
this is exactly how i did it and it works great

im musing a microsoft broadband wireless network on home. 3 dells and 1 17" PB

works great
