I will soon purchase a MBP and want to migrate my files from my ibook G4.

The display on my ibook does not work at all--totally blank.
How will this affect the data migration process.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I agree -- Migration Assistant will take care of everything. Worked beautifully when I bought my macbook -- took everything from my PB and when I started up, just like it always was. No screen needed, but it does take a while -- about an hour for me. Just set it and forget it!

Good luck!

i third the motion! migration assistant will take care of everything for you, screen or no screen. if you're uncomfortable using migration assistant or want to do it yourself for any other reason, hook up your iBook to the MBP as a FW drive and copy your files manually.
