...for me this was a mark of the turn to pop music for Elton John. Never liked this as much as his prior stuff.

I really like this song. To me it was one of the last songs by him I could really say I liked without reservation. His sappy love songs of the late 80's into the 90's weren't as good as his earlier stuff, but this song, judged on its own, is definitely solid. :)
