Comment: The title says it all: I can't get enough of this song. It's the kind that wakes you up in a special way, as if you've been sleeping all your life.

Suede is one of those bands that I LOVED in the 90's. I tried playing them recently and it's not nearly as good. I find myself getting easily annoying by Brett's voice. Even though it's just a B-sides collection, Sci-fi Lullabies is my favorite. Dog Man Star is a close second. If you ever get a chance to hear the very early-Suede song called "Be My God," you'll get to hear how Suede could have sounded if Brett didn't get kicked in the nads.

Yeah, I was kind of disappointed with 'The Tears' too. They didn't have any of the punch and verve that 'Suede' had.

I loved the first Suede album. The songs on the second were also excellent, but production wise it was all over the place, then after Butler left it was almost like they were doing an impression of themselves.
Liked Stay Together the best :)

I prefer the second to the first, but to be honest, there's not much in it. The third album was ruined for me a guy at uni playing it over and over at high volume seemingly for months. You're right about Bernard Butler, when he left they were almost formulaic.

However, if he hadn't I never would have met him :)

Oooh - how, when, where? :)
Briefly in either late 97 or early 98. He made a video in our street in Brixton for one of his solo records and one of the crew came round to apologise to all the residents for the disruption as they'd had to shut the road. Then he asked whether I'd like to meet Bernard, so I went out and said Hi. Then Bernard said Hi. And that was pretty much it.
Brief to be sure, and not something I'd mention unless we were already talking about Suede and/or Bernard Butler :)
