Just wondering if Apple have the equivalent of January sales or any others?

Can't use the student discounts because I'm not a student.

Apple just had a sale here yesterday.

You don't really have to be a student to use the discount:D

but we don't encourage that. Apple usually has only one sale a year, and it is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States and usually a few days after that elsewhere in the world (or was this year a first? - either way, looks like you just missed it). check the refurbs (http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/6834042/wa/PSLID?mco=F43411&nclm=Certified&wosid=LS2qQvGI93Qq2aWcZhWcyMEKl1m) at the Apple store for discounted Macs and other Apple products.

as has been said many times before

if we abuse the 'student discount' then apple will no longer offer it

further- if we abuse it apple will start to check on every apple education purchase-

if you look @ places like Amazon...etc there are often rebates that can help you to get cheaper mac's

They had a discount yesterday in the UK, bad luck :(, Apple doesn't have sales generally, try the refurb section to save some money, or john Lewis to get a 2 year warranty.

Try amazon.com. I think they currently give a $150 rebate on MBP's

The OP's location is the UK, so you have to buy from Amazon.co.uk which doesn't do rebates.

There are always refreshed (returned) machines after Christmas. Look for them at the end of December to early January. Refurbished (repaired) machines are more reliably available throughout the year.
