Quicktime

When playing videos from websites is it possible to have quicktime open them up in quicktime itself instead of them opening up in Safari or Firefox? As when they open up in the browser they appear small in the centre of the browser.
 
ok thanks, but how do you do this? i cant seem to find anything in prefrences that will do this
 
i have downloaded the plugin and its enabled in safari but if i click on a video it just opens up in the browser instead of quicktime itself. Has anyone got anyideas????
 
If you actually download a QT movie and have 'Open "safe" files after downloading' checked in Safari prefs I guess it would open the QT application. But 'they' usually advise this option be unchecked after a possible security issue was discovered, though this may not be an issue any more. If you don't download then you are talking about a website being able to open applications on your machine, which is pretty scary. Address book? Mail?
