im guessing yeah since the other ipods went to different colors, but then again who knows

It may have something to do with the extra cost to Apple of manufacturing and managing inventory for several different colors. One of their main goals with the shuffle is to keep prices low and margins high. We never saw different colored 1st Gen shuffles.

I have a silver shuffle - i'd love a metallic green shuffle like the nano - would sure be really svel.
