...that my username and profile comes up as the first result on google!
I don't like that my email is just availible to anyone that uses google! I thought you had to be a member to view a profile?
Anybody uncomfortable with this?

No, I don't list my contact details. Why have you?

It comes up second, and only if you don't put a space. So basically just like your profile name. I don't know what you could do...changing it is an option I guess.

Mine comes up as the first result on google as well. However, I've kept my contact info hidden. Your IM screen name is the same as your email name; I can see that being a problem.
luv ya bunches! xoxoxo

Well, I have one email for forum signups, one email for msn messenger and one email for my personal usage. I suggest that you do the same if you are worried about it.

Well the only people that would know your name are the people here so unless someone contacts you here I don't think that you have anything to worry about.

My user profile actually comes up first in the actual search results when I google xeem, but it's a segmented page, with the xeem.com/net/org on top, results for an exeem search below that, and finally xeem results.
I've always wondered what was up with xeem.com, xeem.net, and xeem.org. They aren't available for sale, but they're clearly not doing anything.

Yeah, or he's using an alias and is going to be banned.
Either way it's stupid.

I was just stating the fact that MacRumors usernames are results on google. I guess it is ironic that I went and stated my AIM/MSN.:( And yes, I did like that kiwi_the_iwik, and my current MSN was horribly stuffed with spam that was horrble, so I got a new one. I liked that name. I did tell my friends I didn't create the name. Lay back on the attacks, please.

I took away my details awhile ago since random people were IMing me to do their technical support for free.
Everything posted on a public forum is "public".
Google indexes these pages just like other sites... in fact, a little better than most sites due to its popularity.
You just have to be aware that these things are public.

Get over it buddy. If it bothers you so much, then don't display your contact details. Simple as that.

Tell me about it! I must have had every kid and his stupidity IMing me, asking me dumb questions.
If one more person asks me how to "install the linux", I shall scream my little pink lips off.
Aaaaaargh!

Out of the top 5 Google results, the first is here. 2nd is MacWorld (used to be MacCentral... I miss MacCentral), 4th is Playlist (part of MacCentr... I mean, MacWorld but uses a different forum, for some stupid reason). The others involve Chemicals for some reason. And my MySpace, but not the girl who's using /solvs. Weird. I have a really high spam filter at that e-mail address, only letting people I know get through, so it's useless if someone else wanted to contact me for anything. Unless you use the PM's, but I never do. My IM's are private, but haven't used those in a while either.
Not a big deal, just put a different e-mail addy in there. ;)

Good point arn, one would do well to remember that everything said online is public and hence able to be seen by others. :)

eva01, that gives me a wonderful idea. I guess if someone knew your mr username and you had your website address that could be a way of generating traffic.

I don't care who has my email address;) I get like 1800 spam mails per week on my gmail account, and Google does a brilliant job of filtering nearly every single one of them;) :)

Wow, 14,000+ results for Markleshark on google, all mainly MR posts and NBSDesignz posts mind you. Lots of old Invision skins I used to make, ahhh the memorys.

This site must be pretty popular to get us all to the top of the Google search results. I wouldn't have thought my username would leap up there.

1st on Google as well. Of course I made it up as a result of this site so it doesn't come as much of a surprise.
Edit: Scratch that. Looks like my digg profile took over as #1. MR is #2 if we're talking separate site results.

That is surprising. Weird...
I'm top of page 8, no surprise there. Still, it was a chance to catch up on some reviews.
The only hint of optimism comes at the end of Blue Velvet, when the sun emerges, the sky is blue, a robin appears, and everything seems right in the world. Once again, we are presented with the veneer of perfection. Then we notice that the robin has a beetle in its beak, and we realize where that beetle comes from. The movie has gone full circle... the rot and corruption are still there, concealed beneath the blades of grass, ready to emerge.
