Help! my Lacie external harddrive sounds like a bomb/doesnt work

Hi,
So my Lacie external hard drive has never worked on my Poer Book G4 laptop but works on other Mac computers. It doesnt appear on my finder or desktop - its only response when plugged into the USB is to make a ticking sound. Any advice?

Does your version of os x live up to the system requirements?

Sounding like a bomb and working on every computer just fine except your G4 laptop sounds like two different things to me.

Provided you are connecting the LaCie external hard drive the same way on all the Macs, it sounds like a problem with the PowerBook, not the HD.

A ticking sound? Like the HD is trying to turn on? Be sure the connection to the power supply is secure.

Also which Lacie HD do you have? And I'm little confused, you said the HD does not work on your Powerbook, but it does on other Macs. Which Mac are you referring to in the last quote where quoted you?
