View Full Version : CD Labelmaker for Mac?

Is anyone aware of a good cd labelmaker for Mac? I don't see a need to buy Toast just to get the included labelmaker and paying $40 for MagicMouse Discus from their site seems like a lot just for a labelmaker.

Alternatively, is anyone aware of templates for Adobe Photoshop that work well?

Any other solutions?

Check to see what www.avery.com offers.
Avery Laser 5692 is one of their CD products.
They sometimes offer templates for free, and from time to time they are PC only.
Check to see if the template is in Appleworks or in M$ Word or Office. Start a new document and then goto to the Labels function.

I have sworn off paper/glue labels, esp. for slot type players. Just imagine the spinning/heat generated and damage that paper/glue could do. Even a slight move can get it stuck in the slot types.

I use the memorex applicator and paper. It works well on both CDs and DVDs for me. Just have to make sure to rub it on a little extra after stamping.

I'm looking for a SOFTWARE application that is good at creating cd labels and is made for OS X.

Any thoughts?

You mentiond cheap, that's the only reason I mentiond templates, because they are free.

Just as a sidenote, I made 8 DVDRs this past week. All was fine until I labeled them. After much headscratching and research I found out the cause. The labels added more weight to the discs than my DVD player could handle. The discs would skip, freeze, or refuse to load. Others have reported that labels put more stress on the spindles of their players and would wear them out prematurely. And heaven help you if you put the labels off-center and unbalance the disk! At $3 a blank DVDR, that was an expensive lesson to learn.
