You guys are misquoting. He said, "It's a more fun, intuitive type of product." He wasn't describing the system directly, or comparing it to the PS3 directly, but classifying it as hardware with a simpler focus.

I'm as pro-Wii as anyone, but come on.

being able to play a media format, is not a great point to make.

so, the Wii is fun all around, but the PS3 can do lots more things...he says, like blu ray....

When Blu Ray dies out or becomes the standard (i dont care anymore!) the fact a PS3 can play BR discs is a moot point; barely worth mentioning other than its price at the current time.

just because you have a sub $1000 blu ray player doesnt make it something special, playing Blu Ray discs is not something everyone wants, needs or even cares to know about.

And that's absolutely true. The PS3 provides entertainment on many different levels through its multimedia capabilities.

i think that using the words "Blu Ray" to describe the PS3 is just playing off the cost of current Blu Ray machines, nothing more.

it does absolutely nothing for the machine in terms of what it can and cant do, seeing as how Blu Ray is basically a format with no foundation (as is HD DVD)
