Here's the deal...
Cable internet, Airport connected to the cable internet through an ethernet cable.
Two computers. One G5 iMac, one G4 iBook.
The G5 iMac connects to the internet, iTunes, software update, etc. with no problems.
The iBook won't connect to iTunes or software update, but can still connect to internet when using Firefox. But not always with Safari.
What gives? Never had this issue before...
Thanks in advance!!

Make sure the iBook's network settings in System Preferences match the iMac's. Specifically, double check the TCP/IP settings. :)

Never had this issue before meaning it used to work fine with both computers and the same set up? Or has something been changed recently?
I recall people having this problem a while back (maybe have a search on the forums) and it may have been something to do with IP addresses as the poster above notes - both computers trying to connect using a single IP address supplied via the cable.

Well, Firefox ignores most of the OSX system network settings, which makes me think that's where the problem lies. :)

To test that, make a new user, log in as the new user and see if that fixes anything
