While my iPod was hooked up via firewire to my computer today, I accidentally yanked it out with my chair (yes, idiotic of me, I know 🙂), and since then all the contents have disappeared, almost as if it's reverted back to it's default state; except the 'About' screen still shows the available space as only 111MB (which is exactly right), which suggests that it has retained some information from before I yanked it out. As mentioned above, it's a four year old 2nd Gen 20GB, running 1.2.2. Does anyone know if and how I can regain my songs or are they all gone? Hard reset (Menu and Play together) has not done anything.

As ever, any help appreciated!

Try repairing the iPod's drive in Disk Utility and then using an app like Senuti to see if it can find your tracks. 🙂

Disk Utility couldn't fix it, so I'm currently running it through TechTool Pro, hopefully that will do something.......

Yeah, good luck but if you're onto TechTool then the iPod's might be on its last legs anyway. 😱
