Next semester in my networking class, I'll have a shot at getting my CCNA. That got me thinking...are there any Apple certifications like the MCSE or whatever? If so, what's involved in getting certified?

I'm sure there are, though I'm not familiar with generic Apple certs. Only ones I know of are the Pro certifications for their Pro video apps (Final Cut, etc.).

Hmmm... now why would anyone want to go to a school to learn something??;)
Actually, lots of higher ed schools teach MS and Cisco stuff in their CS/IT programs, esp. community colleges. Nothing new there. What would be interesting is if they would teach APPL technology too, other than the graphic arts apps.

Yeah, it's a state university (University of Missouri-Rolla, well known for their engineering departments, but the Info Sci department is less known). I don't take the test there or anything, but the networking class helps prepares you for the CCNA, and if I'm getting prepared for it, I might as well take it, since I want to do networking when I graduate.

Apple has several "non-graphics" certifications (http://train.apple.com/certification/). I've thought it's something I'd like to do, but not if I have to pay a lot of money for it. Afterall, it's not really likely I'd ever get a job with it, more just something I'd like to do to say I did it.
