barcode/black rips on desktop/corners of programs?

i don't know why, but when my computer returned from screensaver, there were four ... looked like rips on the screen of my desktop, but rips of code. kind of like a barcode, but not straight lines.

they were gone when i refreshed my desktop and background, however i started seeing it attached to the end of corners.

i forgot to take a screenshot, but does anyone have an idea of what this might have been? a restart of my computer doesn't show them anymore, but it was interesting.

nothing. it literally looked like someone clawed on the "virtual" screen, and it revealed the innards of the "virtual" insides of my computer. i don't know how else to describe it.
