Simple question...hopefully simple answer

How can I get rid of the U.S. flag in the upper right hand corner? It is right next to my airport and volume icons. I don't remember it being there when I first bought the imac.

Open "System Preferences", then click on the "International" icon, then click on the "Input Menu" tab, then uncheck the "Character Palette".

Edit: Darn! The OP beat me to it.
But I beat the rest of you slow hunt'n peckers.
Nah nah.

...Or hold COMMAND and drag it off. 😉

That only work if you have two hands. Or use a prop to hold the command key down.

Just mash your face into the keyboard. The COMMAND key's bound to be struck sooner or later.
