iPod m4p to mp3?

Hellao,
Can anyone recommend a reliable Mac OS X m4p to mp3 converter?... my cellphone won't play the m4ps...

m4ps are protected files downloaded from the iTunes Store. You'd have to burn the song to CD and then re-rip it as an MP3.

Hmm, assuming they are unprotected, then iTunes.

In preferences, make sure that import is set to mp3, then you should be able to right click on any song in the library and there should be an option to convert to MP3.

The "p" in m4p indicates they are protected. A regular non-protected AAC appears with a "m4a" file extension.

As WC posted, one a Mac one must burn a CD and reimport them as MP3s.
