Spotlight comments - won't work on CD

Hello

My photos have Spotlight comments attached to them. I've burnt the photos on to CD but Spotlight won't find the photo when I search for them by Spotlight comment. It works for the files still on the computer.
Any ideas, solutions?

Spotlight is still rough around the edges (shows great promise though) but in this case it's doing the right thing: it doesn't index removable drives under any circumstances.
