What is the best external hard drive for video editing?
I am thinking about getting a g-tech 250gb.
Any advice would be fantastic.

grab a couple 250/320gb seagate internal drives and a couple FW external enclosures (or one dual drive enclosure, but don't run it in raid) and that would be around $300
get em at www.newegg.com

More importantly, what video formats will you be working with? For any of the DV25 family (DV, DVCam, DVCPro, Digital 8) and even for HDV, Firewire 400 or 800 will be fine. For higher fomats you'll need something other than FW to maintain the needed data rate.
