Mac OS X and Canon dc40 Camcorder

Does anyone know if there is some software available that will allow me to transfer videos from my Canon dc 40 DVD camcorder to my hard drive. The Canon lit says it is compatible with OSX, but it turns out not for video transfer. Any help is appreciated.

Pop out the mini DVD from the camcorder and pop it into your tray-loading Mac optical drive. Any of the usual DVD ripping apps should convert your video into an editable format.
