Whick imacor emac should i get?

Ok, my dad i gonna buy me a mac. Decision #1: Laptop or desktop..LAptops are too expensive for their power. A g3 ibook $1,300. A 800mhz imac 1,300. Ibooks out. PB Vs Imac 1GHz..$1800 imac can burn dvds pb cant..imac faster..i dont need laptop now( or do i). Desktop wins. Decision #2 emac or powermac or imac. emac too big but cheap. compared to the imac too ugly. power mac is too expensive and no monitor. emac or imac help me! or should i get 12 pb opinions?

anyhoo, It doesn't really matter, the eMac does its job, little bit slower, no LCD screen, you know.

The iMac looks nice tho, tho neither still have upgrading capabalities (expect one Ram slot :( )

i think u need to step back a bit and make sure you might know what you may want (haha) ummm, the emac may e updated soon rumors see 1ghz in the not too distant future.

I would go with the iMac. It's more compact, and cooler looking. I heard from a local computer store that the eMacs had various bugs. Plus the monitor adjusting on the iMac is really nice.

How much money do you want to spend? $800, $1000, $1300?

Yep, it all depends on how much you want to spend and what you want it to do. The low-end iBook is a good deal. The new eMac is a good deal, and if you get it with the tilt-and-swivel base it's not too bad looking either, and way cheaper than the equivalent LCD iMac.

But the LCD iMac with the Arm... the way it tilts and swivels so easily... it's really a next-generation computer. I wish Apple would redesign their monitors to have the same Arm. It's hard to assign a value to such outstanding ergonomics.

Maybe you should consider one of the (discontinued?) 15" iMacs with a combo drive. You might get a good deal!

Let me add this: if you buy an eMac, there's a very good chance you will be taking it in for repairs soon. Now, if you happen to get one of the good ones, they're nice machines, but the chances of getting one with a bad deflection board is pretty high. Just another thing to consider...

well i (or my dad) could be able to sacrifice style for a few bucks. as i said the laptops are too expensive.:( so i leaves the emac and imac

many people (including me) hate the eMac. It seems VERY slow
to me, and the CRT monitor isn't very good. If I were you I would
wait for local stores to get the new iMacs, then I would try out all
the computers and decide from there. But I must warn you, this
is extremely dangerous because there is a good chance you will
end up with a dual 1.42 powermac and a 23 inch apple LCD. ;)

How much do you have to spend? My parents always quote a
price for me and I find the best deal within that price range.

well they want they cheapest mac they can get but...they said i can get abything from 1300-1800$ BUT I CAN PUT IN ABOOUT 300$
