How exactly does this compete with iTunes?

Getting movies solely for use on your PSP (assuming that you even have one) does not seem like a very interesting proposition.

I tend to think these types of announcements serve two audiences:

1. Investors. Sony perceives that it needs to play in this space at some level to keep the shareholders happy.

2. Sony loyalists. See above.
