Is there any way or any gadget that adds memory to, say, an 8GB iPod Nano? Anything small and portable that could be attached to the Nano and access memory from an SD card, flash drive etc?

i haven't seen anything like this and i don't think Apple would endorse it if it existed.

you could wait to see if they release a larger nano, which is expected considering the latest capacity upgrades. but you never know how long you'll have to wait.

Apple makes a camera connector (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/6634001/wo/8c4e6SmvamZO20gtYrtMRbwnqeU/1.0.21.1.0.8.25.7.11.0.1) so you can upload pictures onto your iPod, if it supports pictures.
