Question about computer LCD monitors and game systems

I have this 22" Gateway i just bought with component cables on the back. I want to connect my Nintnedo Wii to it, but what about the volume? Right now I'm just using the display for my mbp and i have speakers for that connected to the headphone jack. Is there a way to work this to have volume while play the wii?

I presume you mean a way to convert the red/white jacks to a 3.5mm headphone jack? If so, just wander down to any electronics/hardware store (eg, Maplin), and buy a simple adapter, eg - http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&criteria=phono%20headphone&ModuleNo=48366&doy=24m12

Use a secondary/external stereo amplifier will help. I have all my machines hooked up to mine and use the amps volume to control everything.
