How can I set an application to run at startup? I'm trying to figure this out but Im having no luck :(. Please help! Thanks

Sytem prefs > Accounts > Login items
Click the little '+' icon to add the desired app and it should open automatically when you boot up.

...or even easier: Run the application, right/ctrl-click the Dock icon and choose "Open at Login" from the context menu. :)

Yep, then you can check the box if you don't want to see the app on bootup (from the sys prefs menu)

Alternatively click and hold the mouse button on the dock icon for the item until the little menu comes up, and then select "open at login." EDIT: beaten :o
