i think i bought aapl about about 1 year and a half ago...when it was running high, around 60 a pop. That 60 went to 25 in one day because of bad earnings report and not meeting the market expectations. People dumped it like a bad habit and went straight through the gutter. It fell to a low of 13 dollars at one point... but it's recovered since then. Only thing is that, that 10+ dollar recovery took 1 year...not even counting how much was lost in that one day. Oh well...i do hope the best for them and investers alike. I know i was stupid for holding on, but dumping it is as good as losing it. But then again, i could have made some money off of other stocks while aapl was in the dump...decisions:confused:

I bought Apple right when it took the nosedive....
that was over a year ago of course.....I'm still waiting to reap the benefits....
I've been advised to sell once it goes back to what I paid since it's a few dollars cheaper now....

Every person that I have asked about purchasing stocks has said pretty much this...
Buy them for the long haul. Expect the value to go up and down then up again. It may take a while in some cases, but don't sell unless the company has announce filing for capter 11.
Sometime in the next several months, I will be putting money aside in order to purchase some HDI stock. I looked at it the other day and it has been on a steady up trend since it went public (1988 I believe). It has also split 5 times, which is a very good thing. I intend to hold onto the stock for the long haul, purchasing additional shares as I can afford to.

I have 10 shares of apple that I bought for 15.72 each(right after the super drop from 72). If they ever get somewhere around 40 I will probably sell them.

however.....I paid $27 per share....
as soon as I get my money back I'm dropping out....
I know about "the long haul"...but 10 shares is hardly worth it....

I bought 25 shares for 20.00 a pop. I bailed out at 22.00 per share, making a little profit.
I then bought 80 shares of CSCO. 50 shares at 19.00, and 30 at 16.68. The average is around 18.00. I think I am going to hold on to this stock for a while.

Last year I bought about $US1000 (doing the conversion) of $US13 Apple shares (was around 50 after fees and stuff - BTW, cost $50 to get them from here is Australia) and sold them at around $23..... I was happy.
If they go down around $13 again, I am gonna buy up big.

Thinking about it, my Australian to US Dollar conversion there was REALLY bad, I am sorry, I do know I have about 53 shares though.
