Bootcamp, cross over or parallels

Guys and girls :)

I'm in need of some advice i've got a few old PC games that i'd like to play on my MBP however I'm not sure which is the easiest route to go with. I know that with crossover only a *few* games are supported and my best bet would be to install bootcamp however i don't really want to have to install a full blown copy of windows on my machine!

What's the pro's and con's of each?

If the games are 2D affairs, you could use parallels - the latest beta build allowed my son to play some of his games.

If they are 3D games, bootcamp is I think for now the only SURE option... Parallels is supposedly working on adding 3D support in an upcoming build, and CrossOver Office only works for a few.

However, you could always download the trial editon of crossover office and try it yourself.

Install bootcamp. Buy parallels. You can use your bootcamp partition for parallels, and dual-boot when you need games.

If you're gonna use Parallels, you'll have to do a complete Windows install anyways, whether combined with bootcamp or not. If you use a sole install in Bootcamp, Windows will support (almost) all of your hardware directly, whilst Parallels still has to emulate parts like the graphics card. On the other hand, Parallels offers an expanding hard drive, using only the amount of space your virtual hard drive needs. Bootcamp will use all of the space it's given when creating the Windows partition
