Every time I use the tab feature in Safari (beta 2), I just get the beachball effect, no matter what page I try to tab, I get the same problem.
I also have to force quit just to get Safari working again!!
I have reinstalled safari multiple times, and it is still a no go.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Any suggestions?

I know Safari 2 is still in Beta form, but this is pissing me off so much that I have to use Camino!!

Yup, I get this problem all the time, not just with opening new tabs but also with opening new windows. Basically, I only feel safe if there is only 1 window open.

Also, sometimes the second window or tab will open, but all the text in it is HUGE. Dunno what's up with that.

Anyway, Safari is promising but I can't wait 'til it's out of beta. 'Til then I guess I'll find myself falling back to using Camino.

I can't wait till apple gets on the ball and make all the apps work right. Or at least do simple tasks that other apps do.

not me

that's funny...safari on my machine has worked like a dream since the first beta.

mine works fine too.

i think you guys need to delete the "com.apple.safari.plist" preference, which will be found in your Home>Library>Preferences folder.

deleting the app itself isn't going to do anything

Its sad when apples beta is better than microsofts best browser😛
I use safari as my main browser

All I did was use Software Update to get the latest beta. I didn't even think about deleting anything - I assumed if the application was part of Software Update, then the update script would delete/install whatever files were necessary.

Should I delete the "plist" preference and then manually reinstall?

FYI I have 10.2.6. All updates installed through Software Update.

Nope, that didn't work!!😡

No Problems

I've had very few problems with Safari, and I use an older 500mhz iBook, and I use tabs all the time, and never once had a problem, even when using 10 or more tabs. very very rare that I get a spinning beach ball even on a large graphically intense website.
