can anyone help me? My mom doesnt have time to go take me and get a good external HD(as i dont have an apple store and target's arent very good quality) can u guys tell me what to back up.. and how to back it up because every time i tried it just made an alias.. So please help because im sendming my macbook in due to lcd problems.

I just looked in the Target ad today and noticed they have a Western Digital MyBook on sale (i forgot the price or HD size though), and I've heard nothing but good things about MyBooks, and while I don't have one myself, I have other Western Digital hard drives and have yet to have any problems.
Anyways, as far as it making aliases goes, you're fine. That's how the burn folders work. It will burn the actual files when you burn the disc

I just looked in the Target ad today and noticed they have a Western Digital MyBook on sale (i forgot the price or HD size though), and I've heard nothing but good things about MyBooks, and while I don't have one myself, I have other Western Digital hard drives and have yet to have any problems.
Anyways, as far as it making aliases goes, you're fine. That's how the burn folders work. It will burn the actual files when you burn the disc
o thanks i grabbed the paper and showed my mom she said ill probably get that within a couple of days.. ok i thought alias' werent right.
