On the apple site i was reading on the steps to installing windows via bootcamp and it said the only "tricky" part was choosing the "C: drive manually". What does this mean? how do you choose which partition do install windows on because i dont want to end up deleting my OS X partition! Thanks for your help.

It means that the only place it can go wrong is when you manually selects the partition on which to install XP. You must choose the partition with the size you specified (e.g., you want to create a 20 gig windows partition, choose the partition with ~20 gb). This partition is called C: by Bootcamp.
If you chose another partition, you will delete OS X.
Simply choose to install XP on C:, and all is well.

Yup. there's some padding between the two as "unformatted disk space" of a few gigs to keep the file systems separated but it's pretty clear if you payed attention to the size of the partition you created and keep in mind that what Windows Setup sees as "C" is what you're shooting for.;)
