Remove Bootloader?

Hello,

I tried Windows on my MacBook, but then I removed it using the boot camp assistant. Now, after turning my MacBook on, the screen stays grey for a few seconds, before the apple appears. I guess this is the bootloader, that comes with bootcamp. Can I remove it?

System preferences -> Startup Disk -> Choose OSX

The bootloader is part of the firmware and can't be removed, and actually isn't related to BootCamp at all (except on the earliest Intel Mac models that needed a firmware update that was included with BootCamp).

psychofreak posted the correct solution. What's happening is your Mac is searching for a bootable drive. Once you select your OS X partition in System Preferences, it won't spend any time searching and start booting OS X right away.

Okay, thanks. I'm coming from the Linux world and there the bootloader has nothing to do with the Firmware. I guess that's just one reason Apple doesn't like BIOS.
