Wii safe to leave on?

At the moment I don't have a Gamecube memory card but I want to get as far as possible in a game. If I play the gamecube game and leave it on overnight, will it damage the wii in any way?

No reason why it should damage the system. I left my Cube on overnight to get Mewtwo in Smash Bros Melee, and that was older hardware.
