Hello everyone,

For Bootcamp, I have my drive partitioned into 2 partitions, one for mac, one for PC (NTFS formatted.) I was wondering if it's possible to set my drive icon by changing or adding any files while under windows, since I cannot write to NTFS in Mac..

Thanks!

You want to change the icon of the drive that is on your mac desktop?

If this is indeed what you want, you are going to have to use an app called Candybar (http://www.panic.com/candybar/), and change the icon for all hard disks to whatever icon you want.

Do don't have to have candybar to do this. Here (http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/customize/6/) are the instuctions on how

I don't think that works on windows drives, since you cannot edit them.

Exactly - I use the method described in the Apple document but it doesn't work when you can't write to the drive.. any workarounds? Anyone know the actual files that dictate the icon for that drive?

Cheers

http://forum.onmac.net/showpost.php?p=5512&postcount=5That solution works. You have to MANUALLY move over the .VolumeIcon.icns to an NFTS drive since you can't write to it.

I thought something similar to that may work, I'll have a go later at it.
