Vista Final on Mac Pro?

I've searched and searched but haven't found a definitive answer to this. Will Vista RTM install on a Mac Pro via Boot Camp? I'm assuming I can't just boot off the DVD and install since last I heard Vista does not support EFI. Is that true?

Well, that is somewhat promising although the Macbook hardware is different than Mac Pro.

People have installed Windows Vista Beta's and RC's on their Mac Pro's, i don't see why the RTM (final) version wouldn't work.

Vista RTM does support EFI, and the RTM version works just fine on a Mac Pro.

I heard that Vista does *not* support EFI, but whether it supports EFI or not is irrelevant.

I believe that only the 64bit Vista supports EFI, 32bit version does not.

I found detailed instructions of how to install Vista on a Mac Pro!!!!111!!

1. Insert Vista DVD
2. Turn on computer
3. Hold ALT while computer is turning on to give you the boot menu
4. Select the pretty DVD icon
5. Install Vista
6. Enjoy Vista on your Mac Pro

(BTW i actually just made those up. However as i said, i've seen Vista RC1 install onto a mac pro, i don't see why RTM wouldn't.)

Hehe, I'd hope it is that simple. I always got blue screens trying to install the betas so I never bothered with the RC's or RTM. I guess I would need the Bootcamp install DVD for the drivers?

Boot camp doesn't support Vista yet so no point in making the CD. Plus you can just extract the actual drivers from the boot camp installer and copy them to a USB drive to save you writing them to CD.

If you get a blue screen on install then restart the MAC and continue the install process. It will get there in time.
