Everyone said wait for MWSF, and I thought sod that, patience is for planners! And I guess I happy-go-lucked out as they released no apparent updates. Phew.
What are some of the first things to do with it when it arrives? I'm putting on windows so i can play a couple of games (OMG HL2 1080p!) I'm going to reinstall the OS to remove some language packs (if I can be bothered). What apps can't you live without? Any neat tips? I noticed people had been overcloking their ATI graphics cards, is it possible with the NVIDIA card?

You can just use delocalizer to get rid of the other languages. It has always worked great for me. It will save you several GBs.

Get VLC.
I could go on for paragraphs talking about the apps I can't live without. You should go check out the killer mac apps thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=224036&highlight=killer+mac+apps) for some more ideas.

Lucky! How does it feel to get ur iMac? (assuming you got it by now)
I'll order mine in 14 days 3 hours and 57 minutes (it's when my paycheck goes through, the last bit to be able to afford the 2foot iMac) :)
I love reading the "iMac just came in!" threads, it gives me hope that I can make it till the end of this month
