I read the article on Wikipedia, but I still don’t quite understand. Do they play a significant role in the production of a song? Does the job of an arranger vary from country to country because on my Japan imports the arranger name's is displayed as predominately as the writer and the producers', but on my European imports and domestic releases the arranger doesn't seem to be as important? Also, I have noticed many songs don't have arrangers, so I suppose the producer does the job of the arranger in those cases. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could answer my questions as I have been wondering this for a while.
