have it play on a set-top DVD player? I know that in the pc world DVD Decrypter does this and I was wondering if Disk Utility can also do this? Any information that someone could provide would be helpful.

I film weddings and have made it a habit to make an image of the DVD that i create for a simple backup. I only use Disk Utility to do that. When you make an image, just make it a DVD/CD Master (.cdr) image. It works great.

By the way, I don't condone using Disk Utility for ripping DVDs made commercially available. I don't think that's legal. 🙂
